Leave second skin bandage on for up to 5 days
If you notice the bandage leaking fluid, or the edges peeling up to the tattoo, remove immediately
If you notice irritation such as redness, itchiness, or excessive swelling around the bandage, remove immediately
To remove, get the bandage wet in warm water, and slowly pull one corner away from the skin, similar to a command strip. You can use unscented soap to help loosen the adhesive.
Once bandage is removed, clean your tattoo well with unscented soap until all excess residue and liquid is gone. Next, gently pat your tattoo dry with a clean paper towel
Apply a thin layer of unscented lotion
Repeat washing twice daily until healed (2-3 weeks, or until the skin feels completely normal again and flaking has stopped.

Carefully remove bandage and tape, and give your tattoo a good thorough wash using your hands (no washcloths, etc) and unscented soap. Give the tattoo a really good rinse to ensure all excess fluid is washed away
Gently pat dry with clean paper towel
Do not rewrap your tattoo unless at artist’s request
Continue washing daily until healed (2-3 weeks, until skin feels normal again and all flaking has stopped)
On day 3, or when your tattoo feels dry and tight, you can begin to moisturize 2-3 times daily with a thin layer of unscented lotion

DO:
Wear loose clothing over healing tattoo
Use less moisturizer rather than more. You do not want a heavy layer over your healing tattoo
DON’T:
Do not soak your tattoo. No baths, swimming, hot tubs. I know a long steamy shower is the best thing ever, but keep it on the short side while you’re healing
Do not pick, scratch, or peel any flaking off of your tattoo. If it’s itchy, apply a thin layer of lotion or lightly tap the area with your fingertips for some relief
Do not wear restrictive clothing or anything that rubs on the tattoo while healing
Do not expose your tattoo to excessive sun. At the very least, for three weeks. In a perfect world, 6 weeks. Once all peeling has stopped and it is healed, you can apply SPF to keep your tattoo looking nice and fresh for as long as possible!
