Frequently Asked Questions

  • I open my bookings 4 times a year, and leave them open until I’m booked 3-4 months out. I will always post my books opening date on my Instagram, and frequently update my email auto-response to include information on if they’re currently open. I only accept bookings through my email crowwleysart@gmail.com, the inquiry form on this site, or the inquiry form on the parlour11.com website!

If you are looking to book a touchup on a tattoo I’ve done for you, or are in the middle of an unfinished project with me, you can email any time to book in regardless of if my books are open or not!

To book, I need to know what you’re wanting (as much detail as you need to give me), the approximate size, if we’re working around other tattoos, if you want black/white or colour, where you’re wanting it, days that work best for you during the week, and any reference photos you’ve collected for the tattoo.

If you are wanting a predrawn design (larger concepts, in my “predrawn” highlight on Instagram) or a flash tattoo (“flash” highlight) I just need a screenshot of the one you’re wanting and any other relevant details like placement, b&g or colour, and days that would work for the appointment.

  • I only tattoo 18+. I also do not accept parental consent to tattoo under 18.

  • I require a deposit for every appointment booked excluding touchups. For pieces under 6 inches it is $50, anything over that is $100. The deposit is non-refundable, and will be taken off of the total cost of your tattoo after completion.

I will request a deposit upon sending an appointment date(s), please do not send a deposit without confirmation of an appointment.

  • I require as much notice as possible for a reschedule or cancellation. Generally, I require 48 hours notice. No-call, no-shows will lose their deposit and will have to provide a new one if they would like to rebook with me.

If you no show more than once, you will no longer be able to book with me.

  • If you come to your appointment exhibiting any symptoms of illness you will have to reschedule your appointment and put a new deposit down. If you’re getting over a cold (lingering symptoms) I’d still rather you reschedule. Also, if your body is already recovering from an illness/surgery/infection, you don’t want to hand it more things to take care of.

Similarly, if you’re on antibiotics of any kind please email me to reschedule immediately as you cannot get tattooed on them. You should give your body two weeks post antibiotics to recover before getting tattooed.

  • My hourly rate is $170 + GST. My minimum charge is $125, so if you want a tiny tattoo— get a few!

  • I always send out a rough sketch a few days prior to your appointment to check that I’m going in the right direction.

You will see the final artwork the night before or day of when you arrive to your appointment.

  • Absolutely! There isn’t one person on the planet who wants you to be happier with the design than me. When I send the sketch, generally that’s when I’d love to hear feedback. Changes can absolutely be made to the final artwork as well.

However, larger changes (requiring a complete redraw of multiple elements or the entire piece) after confirmation of the sketch will be subject to a redraw fee of $25 that will be added to the cost of your tattoo, on a case by case basis. That being said, make sure to include ALL necessary information in your inquiry.

ex. “I would like these flowers, this element to be the focus, I like this specific pose or angle”

  • I typically don’t find I need to do them as I prefer to have all of the information to be written out in front of me!

However, some projects I may request one, or if you’d be more comfortable/would like to meet me before your tattoo, you are more than welcome to ask.

  • Firstly, add the appointment to your calendar! A few days before, you’ll hear from me with a drawing. I’ll send a reminder email about your appointment the night before.

Have a good sleep, eat a good meal beforehand, and make sure to drink lots of water. You are free to bring anything you’d like that will make you more comfortable such as headphones, a blanket, a snack, or a handheld console. So long as these items don’t interfere with the tattooing process. If you want to be the best client ever, you’ll moisturize the tattoo area in the days prior to your appointment!

You are welcome to bring a friend if you’d like, but I do not have room in my station so they will be welcome to sit in the studio front lobby.

  • I am okay with the use of numbing cream as long as I am notified of it prior to your appointment. If the numbing cream appears to make your tattoo heal poorly, or makes application of the tattoo noticeably difficult, I will require that you discontinue use of the cream.

  • Yes! You can absolutely request a quiet appointment. If you do so, once we start the tattoo you can totally zone out.

  • This is a tough one. Typically not, but it really depends on the project, time of year, and what the use of the piece will be. Artwork that requires a contract/usage rights/royalties is an area I have very little experience in, but personal commissions, don’t be shy to ask and I’ll let you know if it’s something I’d be able to take on!
