Today I am so happy to share that I’m starting a seasonal mail club!
It took a LOT of planning to get to the point that I feel ready to share with y’all, but I’m grateful to finally be here. Though I’m always doing artwork for you guys for tattoos, I do try often to stretch my creativity in other forms, and this project gives me a focus each season to create around and provide you with more accessible artwork as well. Tattoos are expensive and don’t I know it!
Quarterly Intentions is a snail mail club that will be released four times a year, and themed around each season. Offerings will typically include a 7x5” print, mini prints, stickers, and a letter about the theme of the bundle. I want to try to do unique offerings though as well each season, so you could see a bookmark, a colouring page, or something of the sort!
Typically, snail mail clubs are monthly. I’d love to do monthly but for now I think quarterly is a great opportunity to get a feel for how everything works and educate myself more on the process overall because coming into this I truly didn’t know much about the mail system and restrictions for lettermail. As they say, do it scared.
This first release is themed around warmth and wonder, the feeling of summer. Campfire coziness, all of the good things that come forth with the season. If I could reasonably live outside, I would, and this collection is based on that feeling. Here are some details about each piece of the bundle:
7x5” matte art print of my Spirit Raccoons acrylic painting —
I did debut this as a full size print (8x8”) at our mini convention at the parlour recently, but I did the original painting last summer and I wanted to shine a light on it because I’m very happy with how it turned out! It became the piece that this whole bundle was created around. For the colour scheme, I took some select colours from this piece to create the rest of the artwork. It was a challenge because I really wanted to do a bunch of fire themed things and I didn’t have a true yellow, so it was a really nice challenge to make colours LOOK more yellow in each piece using the surrounding colours!
4x6” mini matte print of Campfire Fae digital artwork —
My friends will giggle at this because a few years ago we went camping for a few nights and it was, I’d consider at least, my first actual camping trip. EVER! But you know what the feeling of sitting around a fire has always been top tier for me and I love watching the flames dance. It made me think of lil fairies dancing around it.
5” fire fairy matte vinyl sticker —
Again, a cute lil fairy who loves to be around campers! She keeps the fire going, and the conversation too. The forest is her home and she also spends a lot of time adventuring with the raccoon spirit from the main print.
4.5” raccoon skull matte vinyl sticker —
Nature reclaims, but the spirit remains. The raccoon spirit guides their family and other beings through the forest and reminds them to slow down and smell the flowers. There is no rush. Take your time to enjoy the little things you may have missed if you don’t look close enough.
2” colour scheme doodle —
Just a tiny lil thing, I am a bit of a collector of Paper Things tm and if anyone out there is the same (or junk journaling!) I wanted to include a tiny simple doodle using the colour scheme in its simplicity to mark the season/year.
Quarterly letter —
I will be including a letter in each bundle about the intentions of the summer season and the feeling I wish to bring forth with the artwork. I did go into detail above, but the letter is more of a story/personal letter about the theme. A quarterly check in and a reminder to set your intentions as well!
The summer bundle will be available for purchase this Saturday with options for pickup and delivery. This is Canada only currently, while I do this for the first time. I hope to develop and make changes every season as I learn more about how to efficiently run this kind of thing!
