Fraser Valley Tattoo Show post-show debrief

Happy October! I’ve been spending some time post convention to get inspired and do a lot of rest (Silent Hill was waiting for me y’all). But what a lovely weekend that was.

So grateful to have a convention so close to home that is full of really amazing artists and it’s so much fun to see the insane artwork that comes out of everybody over the weekend.

If you’ve talked with me about my feelings on conventions in general you’ll know that they honestly scare me! I’ve mentioned many a time before just how awful my anxiety is and I’m really proud to report that this convention was the smoothest so far. HUGE shoutout to my booth assistant Kelsey who kept track of everything and talked to everyone who came up to say hello or look at my work. I seriously think that having help made the biggest difference. Along with Kelsey, another huge shoutout to Nico (@n.inktone) and his partner Paul for also coming to support and bring us goodies on the Sunday. IT WARMS MY HEART to have had the incredible support I received this weekend. I have mentioned it on Insta, but another huge thank you to everyone who got a tattoo, followed me, or came to be entered in a competition at my request ♥️

On Sunday, I received my first ever award in tattooing: Best Colour Tattoo for a panda tattoo that I’m so, so incredibly proud of. Thank you Bryce yet AGAIN for the trust in my work and allowing me to plan these projects. I can’t believe it. I was up against CRAZY amazing work and I was shocked to hear my name. It’s been kind of a whirlwind of not believing it and also being so motivated to continue to develop my technique even more with every project. Seriously, nothing more motivating. Now I need to step it up even more! I’ll be designing some larger pieces with elements I’d love to experiment with/push further and I’m very exciting to share them.

More news: my bookings for this period (October-December) are about to close within the next week or two, so now is the time to submit if you want to get in before the new year. I do not yet have my planner available for the new year, but I’ll most likely open bookings for the new year around the middle of December. We will see as that date is still far away and can shimmy around a bit.

We are also doing a Halloween flash day at the Parlour (I’m not sure 10000% who is all involved yet, but I think it’s all of us?) so keep an eye out for information on that. I’m hoping to have some really dope designs for you all but I’ve also got a lot of Halloween flash available already that I haven’t had a chance to do yet! I’ll be posting all of this over the next couple of weeks once I know more!

Thank you for reading and enjoy the spookiest month of the year 🎃👻
