One Day I Floated Away

“One Day I Floated Away” is a song by the band Eisley. Their music houses a mystical, almost fairytale feeling that heavily inspired this piece. The song is about soldiers going to war and hoping to wake up again in the morning, enjoying the warmth of the sun and gratefulness to be alive.

My interpretation with this piece was to emulate the film Watership Down, which shares similar themes to the song above as rabbits are representative of humans. The rabbits, welcomed by the warmth of the portal, come out the other side weightless and colourful. They are free to play together in the forest and enjoy the pastures, away from pain and fear.
